Information we collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any display name you provide. If you sign up using Apple or Google SSO, we receive the basic profile information those services share.
Pet profile information: When you set up your dog's profile, we collect information including your dog's name, breed, age, weight, health conditions, dietary preferences, and allergies. This information is used exclusively to generate personalized shopping recommendations.
Shopping preferences: We collect your preferred retailers, budget range, delivery schedule, and cart interaction history (approvals, removals, substitutions). This data improves the accuracy of Luca's recommendations over time.
Purchase history: If you use our receipt scanning, email forwarding, or retailer account linking features, we process purchase data to improve restock predictions and product recommendations. Receipt images are processed for data extraction and are not stored after processing is complete.
Usage data: We collect anonymized analytics data about how you use the app, including screen views, feature usage, and cart interaction patterns. This data is anonymized and does not include personally identifiable information.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve Luca's core service: generating personalized, price-optimized shopping carts for your dog. Specifically, we use your data to build and refine your dog's preference profile, compare prices across retailers, predict restock timing, monitor recalls relevant to your products, and generate cart explanations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your pet's profile data, purchase history, or personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for their marketing purposes.
Affiliate links and retailer relationships
When Luca routes a purchase to a retailer through an affiliate or partner link, the retailer may pay us a commission on completed purchases. This commission comes from the retailer, not from you — you pay the same price regardless of whether you reached the retailer through Luca or directly. Our product recommendations are based on your dog's profile, nutritional needs, and price optimization — not on affiliate commission rates.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. All database tables enforce row-level security policies, ensuring that your data is accessible only to your authenticated account. Retailer account credentials (OAuth tokens) are encrypted before storage.
Your rights
You can view, edit, or delete your pet profiles and personal information at any time through the app's Settings screen. You can delete your account entirely, which permanently removes all associated data including pet profiles, purchase history, preferences, and cart records. You can export your data by contacting us.
Children's privacy
Luca is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
